In my quest to find the best vegan meal replacement shakes, I’ve tried more than ten different brands. So when I heard that Feel was making a meal replacement shake, I wanted to be one of the first to try it.

You see, I already take Feel vitamins and I love them. So, I had high hopes that Feel’s new meal replacement shake would be great as well.

Because Feel makes the cleanest vitamin supplements, I knew I could trust the brand to make a super healthy formula with no nasty additives.

Feel meal replacement shakes are designed for weight loss. My clothes were feeling a little tighter than I’d like, so I took the opportunity to drink a Feel shake every day for a month to see if they actually work.

What is Feel Meal Replacement?

Feel Meal Replacement is like a protein shake, but it also includes fibre, essential fats, vitamins and minerals. So it has everything that you would get in a healthy, balanced meal.

While many other meal replacement shakes are made mostly with cows’ milk, Feel is 100% vegan. The main ingredients are oats, pea protein, brown rice protein and hemp protein. This means that it’s gluten-free, allergen-free and non-GMO.

Each serving of Feel Meal Replacement has 210 calories and includes 22.8 grams of plant protein.

It contains 29 vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients with 60% of the essential vitamins you need, around 30% of the minerals and a range of added botanicals.

My results

The Feel website says that you should substitute two meals per day for weight loss, or one meal per day to maintain your weight after weight loss.

Well, I like my food, so I didn’t fancy giving up my breakfast and my lunch. So, I opted to have just one shake either for breakfast or lunch each day.

Confession time… I sometimes had a shake as an afternoon snack if I’d only had a small lunch and I knew I wouldn’t be eating dinner until late. So, I was kind of expecting the scales to stay the same.

After a month I was shocked to see that I’d lost three pounds!

When I did the weight loss maths this made sense…

To lose a pound of fat you must eat 3,500 calories less than normal. So to lose 3lb, I had consumed 10,500 fewer calories less during the month. That’s a reduction of 350 calories per day.

Each Feel shake is 210 calories, which I had instead of a usual meal of around 550 calories, saving around 350 calories per day.

Some days, I made the shakes with oat milk instead of water, so that would have added a few more calories. But I also found that because I’d been reminded about my diet each day, I was less likely to scoff crisps and biscuits in the evening.

What I liked and what I didn’t…

The taste and texture

I loved the taste of Feel Meal Replacement. The vanilla flavour was just the right level of sweetness and there was no grittiness or chalkiness like I’ve experienced with some other brands.

Currently, only one flavour is available. I would like the option of some other flavours as, while the vanilla is nice, it does get a little boring after a while.

I found that the best way to enjoy the shakes is to add a little ice and use a protein shaker. You only need to shake it for about ten seconds for it to mix.

Here’s what it looks like in a glass, although I find it nicer to drink straight from the shaker.

The packaging

I love that the packaging for Feel Meal Replacement is 100% plastic-free. The pouch looks like plastic, but it’s actually compostable.

I didn’t get a scoop in my pouch, which I thought was good, because those plastic scoops are awful for the environment!

The instructions said ‘add two scoops of powder (60g)’. Because I didn’t have a scoop I had to use a spoon and the kitchen scales instead, but I found that this worked just fine.

The price

Feel Meal Replacement works out at less than £2 per shake, which I think is pretty good value. So by having the shakes you can actually save money, especially if you usually buy breakfast or lunch while you’re on the go.

With Feel Meal Replacement, you have to sign up for a regular delivery, you can’t just make a one-off purchase. Some people probably find this annoying, but there’s no contract so it’s easy to cancel.

If you reach your weight loss goal or don’t want to continue with the shakes you can easily cancel your next deliveries online and you won’t be charged anymore.

You can also get 10% off your order when you use discount code CHOOSEVEGAN.

The Bottom Line

Whether you want to lose weight or just don’t have time for healthy meals when you’re on the go, Feel Meal Replacement shakes are ideal.

Each shake has all the nutrients that you need for a perfectly balanced healthy meal. Plus, as the ingredients are all vegan and the packaging is plastic-free, you can rest assured that you’re doing your best for the planet as well as your body.
