All the food available at The Prince Albert is vegan. You can choose from three different vegan burgers, vegan chicken served with waffles or chips and plain or cheesy chips. There’s also vegan mayo or ketchup and a vegan brownie and ice cream for dessert.

Food review

I visted the Prince Albert with my husband and two young children. We ordered the original cheeseburger, the ‘chickn’ burger and the ‘cheezy’ chips.

There’s no kids menu at the Prince Albert, but my two were more than happy with a portion of chips and a bread roll between them. Our waitress suggested that we hold the rosemary and salt on the kids chips which was a great shout.

The food was absoluelty incredible and we both said that our burgers were amongst the best we had ever tasted. If you’re the type of vegan who misses eating meat, then you’ll love these fake meat burgers which taste a lot like the real deal.

The vegan chicken is actually made of mushrooms but you wouldn’t know. I’ve no idea how the chef made it, but it tasted fantastic.

The cheesy chips were also spectacular and since trying them I have begun buying fresh rosemary and adding rosemary and chillis to the chips I make at home in my air-frier. The next step is to grow some rosemary at home so that I can keep up with my new obession!

Kids and dogs are welcome

It’s a good idea to book a table at The Prince Albert as it’s only a small pub and is incredibly popular. I messaged them on Instagram and they advised me that kids and dogs were welcome. As it turns out we didn’t have the dogs with us but the staff were so friendly and welcoming of our little ones.

In the corner of the pub there’s a shelf with adults and kids books along with some other toys and games like Mega Bloks which our children loved.

The verdict

I would have no hesitation in giving the Prince Albert, Hastings five stars. I loved that all the food was vegan and it tasted amazing. The service was quick and friendly and staff regularly checked to see if we needed anything else. If you want a child-friendly or dog-friendly pub that serves vegan food in Hastings, you can’t go wrong with the Prince Albert.
